Osca-01

Osca is a dear little man who was rescued from death row at the local pound and was a victim of serious neglect in his past life. Since he has been in foster care, his personality has begun to shine through. He is still a little timid around people, but spends his days quite happily with his doggie foster brothers and sisters in the backyard. Osca has had some trust issues with people, but he is now coming around and realising that not all humans are ‘bad’. Due to his earlier treatment, we would not recommend Osca for a home with children, as we are unsure how he would react.

Osca gets on well with the other dogs that he shares the yard with but must be fed separately due to his food guarding issues. He is equally at home inside or outside, but he is still learning inside toilet training. Oscar is blind in his left eye due to a cataract but this does not affect him getting around with his canine and human friends.

Osca has not had much training at all in his past life, but is slowly learning to walk on the lead and sit when asked. He is good to bath, and loves being groomed. He was badly neglected and had a skin condition when he came into care. His coat was so long and matted that it had to be scissored then clipped to get all the knots out. Osca submitted to this grooming without any issues, seemingly glad to get rid of his dirty matted coat. When his beautiful white coat grows back Osca will be a very handsome little fellow indeed. His new coat will need regular grooming to keep it free from knots and tangles but it can be kept clipped if necessary.

Osca is an extremely affectionate little man who just needs somebody to love him in his forever home. He has never had the love and security that all dogs need but with the patient understanding, love and kindness of his new special person Osca will gain the trust and confidence to become the wonderful little companion he has never had the opportunity to be.

If you think you could be Osca’s special person, he would love to meet you. Osca is in foster care at Wingham, NSW; Date of Birth: 01/05/2008

ADOPTION PROCESS

  • Nova and our animals for adoption are located from Sydney to Newcastle area and along the coast between these cities. Our dogs will NOT be rehomed without undergoing a meet and greet between both parties.
  • Our adoption process commences with completing an enquiry form.
  • All enquiries will be via this form and general email questions will not be responded to without a completed enquiry form being submitted.
  • Your enquiry is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check arranged. All going well, a discussion with the carer will be arranged when a meet and greet can be organised. If the meet and greet is successful a 14 day trial period is entered into.
  • When the trial period is complete the pooch is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
  • Our Facebook & Google+ page have daily updates and further images of the adoptees.
  • Nova Pooch Rescue Inc. is wholly operated by volunteers who already work long hours so, please be advised that there is NO phone contact available.
