Chloe is a beautiful Maltese mix who is searching for a special family of her very own. She forms a strong bond with her special human in a short space of time and just loves to spend as much time with them as she possibly can. So she is happy to spend quiet time in front of the television, or cuddled up on the lounge or in the car, or just following you around as you go about your daily tasks.
This beautiful girl found herself surrendered at the dog pound and does experience some general anxiety. According to her foster carer this is not a major issue from what she has seen so far. It can be managed easily with reassurance, human presence where possible and distraction depending on the anxiety at the time eg: fireworks, storm or separation anxiety.
Chloe does need a forever family that understands her need for security in the form of human companionship and who will kindly and gently help her to gain confidence. It is essential that Chloe is not left alone for long periods of time so she would be an ideal companion for a part time worker, someone who works at home or a retired person.
As for other dogs Chloe does tolerate some small ones, however she would be happy to be an only dog. She can happily lap up all the attention to herself! A quiet, submissive canine companion may also work for her, although she doesn’t engage in doggie play and avoids canine interaction where possible. Her carer believes that once she gains more confidence she may be more comfortable and responsive around other small dogs.
Chloe enjoys her toys, squeaky or not, and she will happily play on her own or with her human companion. She also loves a variety of foods, which will make it easier to teach her basic commands that she hasn’t already learned.
Chloe has a gorgeous but high maintenance coat that will require daily brushing and regular trimming to keep her clean, tidy and tangle free.
If you are looking for a very sweet and affectionate little dog Chloe could be just the girl for your family. She is currently in foster care at Metford, NSW; Date of Birth: 11/11/2009
