Julien is a very affectionate 2 years old Shih Tzu mix who would love to be the centre of his human family’s universe. He is a loving young man who is at his foster carer’s side as much as possible and shows some mild signs of separation anxiety when he has to be left at home. This is usually short lived and he will smother you with love on your return home to let you know how much he has missed you.
Among Julien’s favourite things are walks where in his enthusiasm to sniff at some exciting new smell he does tend to pull a little on his lead. He also enjoys a trip in the car but when at home his favourite place to be is lounging around with his family and sleeping in their bed if he is allowed. Chasing birds that land in his yard or on the fence is a great game for Lucien also. So some ongoing basic training to help Lucien learn to follow commands would be beneficial for this young fellow and help him become a fantastic companion for his forever family.
Julien would love to be an only dog in a home where there is an abundance of love and attention, and where he will not be left home alone for extended periods of time. He would also be fine with another small female dog as he can show some territorial behaviour around other male dogs.
When Julien was taken into care his coat had to be clipped so at present it is easy care. As it grows back into the beautiful long coat characteristic of his breed it will require daily brushing to keep him free of tangles. He could, of course, be kept clipped if that is his new family’s preference.
Julien is a delightful little dog who is looking forward to a second chance of a happy life with a family who cares about him. In return he has heaps of love to give. He is housetrained and will fit easily into his forever family’s life.
Lucien is currently in foster care at Metford, NSW; Date of Birth: 13/02/2013
