Seamus is a fun loving young male Jack Russell Terrier x who is a typical puppy in his behaviour and attitude to life. He loves nothing more than to wrestle and play chase with his foster canine siblings, to throw his toys around and at the end of the day snuggle up with his trusted human, in the warmth of their bed if allowed.
Seamus is starting to learning boundaries and making progress with his toilet training. He does need to continue positive reward training, which will see him thrive. Fortunately Seamus has a love of food, which will make training easier. He shows a lot of potential to be a very well mannered, well-adjusted little man who wants to please his human family.
Seamus shows signs of having a difficult past, therefore it is essential he is treated gently and is allowed to develop trust at his own pace. He is showing some difficulty with walking on leash and is reluctant to approach people at times. With gentle handling and encouragement Seamus can improve his confidence and trust in people.
Seamus can be jumpy when excited and can be a bit mouthy at times as puppies and young dogs generally are; therefore Seamus is best suited to a home with no young children under 12 years. Seamus has a very unique soft but gruff bark and will only use it when he is feeling unsure of something within his environment.
Seamus will not cope as an only dog and adoption to a home where there is no other dog will not be considered. He is a fun loving boy, playful yet submissive and needs plenty of canine companionship and interaction to help him overcome his timidity with people. Due to his puppy type nature it is essential he gets plenty of mental stimulation and physical exercise to reduce the tendency for puppy mischief.
If you think this fun loving and playful little man could light up your family’s life, then young Seamus is waiting to meet you. He is at present in foster care at Metford, NSW; Date of Birth: 02/08/2014
