Annabelle is a beautiful Beagle blend girl who was rescued from deplorable conditions on a puppy farm in May 2015. With the help of her dedicated carer she has come a long way from the terrified dog that hid from and feared all humans. She is a funny cheeky girl, still timid, yet has learnt to trust her carer. So Annabelle is never far away from her and the other dogs in her foster home. Not surprisingly she is curiously cautious of everyone else. Now that Annabelle has learned that not all humans are to be feared she is ready to begin the next stage of her life and find her forever home with her very own family.
As Annabelle has lived in very poor conditions in her past, with not enough food, she sees every meal as a stressful situation and wolfs her food down. Fortunately she is in no way food protective or aggressive and this situation is improving every day as Annabelle learns her food is sufficient and for her alone.
Annabelle gets on really well with all the dogs in care and she has an absolutely gorgeous nature. She is so gentle she can play with dogs 80% smaller than herself with no problem at all. So she would do well with another dog for company and is not suitable to be an only dog in her forever home.
Annabelle is still easily startled, and needs a home where she feels safe to come out of her shell at her own pace. Her new family must have empathy with dogs and be able to set consistent boundaries for Annabelle. She is good with children and interacts well with the toddlers at her carer’s home. Nevertheless, all dogs should be supervised around children.
Annabelle is very curious and food motivated which is helpful training her. She will make a great companion for the right family who will provide security, stability and most of all love for this girl who so richly deserves a second chance for a good life.
Annabelle is currently in foster care at Wilberforce, NSW; Date of Birth: 30/12/2012
