Codi is one of two pups delivered by caesarean section when his heavily pregnant mother came into care underweight and malnutritioned. Thankfully with the proper nutritional supplements and feeding regime, Codi’s mother thrived very quickly and was able to gain the necessary nutritional stability to care for Codi and his brother.
Codi is a very sweet but occasionally shy little pup who will follow his brother’s lead when it comes to most mischievous puppy antics. Codi is a little more nervous when picked up and cuddled but he does enjoy attention. He would just prefer to have his favourite human sit with him on the lounge or floor to deliver that attention.
Codi can be a little reluctant to seek out new challenges unless he has another dog to draw confidence from. However he is a happy, playful little man once he gets to know his environment and then there is no holding him back. His confidence should flourish as he tackles more new challenges and experiences.
As with all puppies, Codi is exploring the world with his teeth, so it is essential he is supervised around all children as he is quite mouthy and his tiny teeth are very sharp. Codi has had limited experience with children and it is essential that any children in his forever home are at least 8 years of age, gentle with animals and know how to handle a very small dog with care.
Codi will not be rehomed into an only dog home; it is essential hat he has another small doggie companion that can provide him with companionship, appropriate play and adequate socialisation, all of which will aid Codi in becoming a model doggie citizen as he develops into an adolescent and then adult dog.
Codi has had some toilet training using an indoor grass training mat, however he will require further training to aid him in all facets of puppy manners. Codi is a smart little pup who will respond very well to puppy training. He is a high energy dog and will require regular walks. His lovely short coat requires minimal grooming.
If you would like to meet little Codi, he is currently in foster care at North Arm Cove, NSW; Date of Birth: 24/10/2015
Note: Codi’s photos will be updated shortly.
