Josie is a complex yet beautiful young lady who craves human companionship. She doesn’t always like to share her human’s attention, so she will require an experienced owner who can provide her with firm and consistent boundaries without resorting to harsh punishment techniques.

Josie shows signs of having had a difficult past; therefore it is essential an understanding person who is capable of loving her without further exacerbating her anxieties adopts her. She will require a home where she isn’t left alone for long hours as much of her struggles are anxiety related. This includes separation anxiety, which may reduce with the aid of another suitable canine companion around her.

Josie gets along with all of her canine foster siblings and has been known to initiate a game with them. Occasionally she will growl at them if they are too close to “her” human; however this has been easily corrected with a short, sharp vocal reprimand. Josie has responded well to this by ceasing the behaviour each time.

This little lady’s issues may stem back to rough handling from children as she is extremely defensive around kids and young people. Therefore she will require a home where there are no children present, or where Josie has a safe place to be away from them if they are visiting for a few hours.

Despite her issues Josie really does have a beautiful nature. She is sensitive, loving, affectionate, protective, loyal and very quick to bond with her human family. In the right environment, Josie will continue flourish.

Josie knows some basic commands quite well but would benefit from continued training to help her gain confidence as well as help her become a really well mannered little lady.

Josie has a high maintenance coat that will require regular grooming to keep it tidy and clean.

If you would like to give this special little dog the second chance she truly deserves, she is currently in foster care at Metford, NSW and is waiting to meet you; Date of Birth: 07/10/2013
